Customizing event-specific pricing with modifiers and data-driven insights in Pricepoint.
The Events and Holidays feature in Pricepoint allows you to apply modifiers to the starting price and/or minimum and maximum prices defined in the Rate Setup (framework). These adjustments override the default framework for specific dates, enabling tailored pricing strategies for events like holidays, festivals, or local happenings.
Accessing Events and Holidays
- Navigate to Settings > Events and Holidays.
- View the list of active and inactive events. Each event card displays:
- Event dates.
- Changes to starting and minimum prices.
- Options to activate/deactivate, edit, or delete events.
Creating or Editing an Event
Step 1: Select or Create an Event
- To edit an existing event, click the edit icon (pencil).
- To create a new event, click Add Event.
Step 2: Configure Event Details
- Activate the Event: Toggle the active/inactive button.
- Set Event Name: Give the event a clear, descriptive name.
- Define Event Importance: Adjust the importance level to increase or decrease the impact of the event on price recommendations.
Step 3: Set Event Frequency
- Indicate whether the event repeats annually or on specific dates.
- Optionally, include the three days before and after the event in the pricing adjustment.
Step 4: Define Affected Dates and Days
- Choose the exact dates for the event.
- Specify which weekdays should be affected. Note: Overlapping events are not allowed.
Step 5: Adjust Pricing
- Modify the starting price and/or minimum price using a percentage or fixed value.
- Set a demand level, if applicable. For events with a fixed demand level, this cannot be changed.
Step 6: Save Changes
- Once all adjustments are made, click Save at the bottom of the screen.
Important Notes
- Integration with the Framework: Events modify the existing framework to align pricing with specific circumstances while maintaining long-term strategies.
- Avoid Overlapping Events: Ensure no two events share overlapping dates to prevent conflicts in pricing recommendations.
- Adjust with Care: Excessive event adjustments may signal a need to refine the default framework in Rate Setup.
